Mobile Number Portability -MNP : Complaint Help

Much awaited, a 5 year struggle of DoT(Department of telecom) has finally now turned to realty.
From 20.Jan.2011 MNP is implemented pan India by all cellular operators.
MNP is the facility of porting the same number which earlier used with a cellular operator to new/another operator. In simple words without changing mobile number switching the cellular service provider.
You can migrate either from GSM(Global System for Mobile Communications) to CDMA(Code division multiple access) or even from CDMA to GSM.
It is possible to inter switch the operators like BSNL,MTNL,AIRTEL,VODAFONE,IDEA,AIRCEL,RELIANCE,TATA TELE,TATA DOCOMO,UNINOR,LOOP MOBILE,SPICE, SHYAM Tel.

Eligibility Criteria for MNP :
1. 90 days to be completed after taking new sim/connection.
2.No outstanding bills with sim.
3.No any legal obstructions by a court or any conspiracy carrying with the Sim .

Procedure:
1.Send a message, PORT to 1900
2.A unique porting number will be delivered to your mobile by sms. The number will be valid for 15 days.
3.Then carry photo and address identification proofs with you to local operator office to whom you wanted to switch.
4.There you want to pay a nominal fee of 19 Rs.
5.done! Your operator switch will be completed within a period of 2-4 days.
6.There will be 2 hours gap or no service period from either of provider while starting new service operator.
7.Another point need to be consider is, once you changed the operator you need to continue at least 6 months with new operator.

After allowing Dual-Technology(one operator can use both GSM & CDMA) Licenses, the MNP would be a game changer for many cellular companies.Now we are going to see the battle among companies in retaining the existing operators.
BSNL has already launched New promotional scheme for MNP: Prepaid operators would get 100 Rs worth talk time and also providing 32K sim for free of cost.
