care of Datawind? One good news for all who have paid for Ubislate well
in advance. Finally Datawind is making arrangement for the refund.
Datawind, a British wireless product manufacturer who has created a lot of buzz with the theme of ultra low cost tablet affordable for masses dubbed as Akaash tablet a.k.a Ubislate failed many times in fulfilling it's promises. It is being largely criticized because of it's customer care standards. Many people had already sent their payments for the product but are getting frustrated with the treatment of Datawind. There are rumors that Datawind used these prepaid payment for the working capital needs.
There are two reasons for which you may force you to think about refund.
1. Still waiting for product delivery without knowing the delivery time.
2. Changed your mind with the news of poor making standards & false promises.
Draft mail to Datawind with all information starting from prebooking id to payment confirmation(it would be better to consolidate all mail conversation to one mail) & also not to forget attachment of cheque scan image with that mail. Direct this mail to refund@datawind.com, poonam.jyot@datawind.com, shehla@datawind.com(TL – Cheque Department), supportin@datawind.com, payment@datawind.com. Be sure that your mail must be delivered to refund@datawind.com, if it bounces due to any reason wait for few hours and send again(prefer to send main in business hours only).
You will get a confirmation call in withing two days and payment will be refunded to your account soon.

- Datawind promised that, the product will consist Android Gingerbread (2.3) but now being shipped with Android Froyo(2.2.2).
- As per company promise it will be having Cortex A8 700Mhz HD video processor but in reality the device is not running normal quality movies smoothly(forget about HD movies)
- Some people are complaining about the overheating of tablet while charging.
- Very big minus is it's resistive touch screen.
- The actual device will be having only one full Usb port rather than two as promised by the company.
- Wrong placement of usb port & SD card port. At a time one can only use either usb port or SD card slot.
- Problem with sim card slot.

I've heard that these people have received more than 40,000 cheques of Rs. 2999/- each. The wow figure would be 119960000 (almost 12 CRORES).
Guys, just think of the interest these frauds have reaped till now. Any bank will give 8-9% interest for this amount. Amazingly at 96 LACS
And now returning the cheques (without interest) is the easy part.

Yes he is correct ., if data wind refund the amount with interest rate ., also Government and RBI will take an necessary action to data wind ., If Government and RBI will not take action many of them starting like this., and getting money from the peoples,they simply siting and gaining money ., actually this will be file under scam and cheating of Public ., also data wind will return money with 10% interest for every month .,

DeleteForget about interest many people are having no clue their Advance payment itself. They are still dreaming about delivery of tab. The price tag of the product is making them all this. But they are forgetting that they will never get any quality product for at that price point.

They promised me to refund 3 months back. I waited for a year for the device and then requested a refund however sorry to say that the above process too dsnt help me in getting my money back - Forget the Interes .. :(

Booked Ubislate 7cz and paid online a sum of Rs 5999. However, after going through the millions of complaints on the net, I cancelled the order and have asked for refund on Dec 09,2012. I have got an email from datawind (after sending them at least 10 emails) that they will refund within 3-4 weeks after deducting Rs 500 as cancellation charges.(though the website says that before the delivery of the product entire sum will be refunded). Looks like I will have to go to the Consumer Court

I have bought a UBISLATE 3G7 tablet in cash on delivery i have paid Rs.7,299/- (Tablet cost Rs.6,999/-+CST Rs.333/-+Delivery charges Rs.300/-) the material is too poor in sound quality to listen incoming and outgoing calls, poor in quality of the product, poor processor, poor material, poor battery back up very worst material i want to return the material. Dont buy any datawind products.

I have bought a Datawind 3G7 Ubislate tablet for Rs.7,299/- including CST and Delivery Expenses on cash on delivery basis. But the material i have received is too worst than any other mobile or tablet manufacturer in the world. I have wasted my time, money and hopes on datawind company. Please dont buy any one any Datawind products.
